Taste the flavors of rural Andalusia! The area is known for its olive oil. Periana is the olive oil village, with a cooperative where all farmers from the area have their olives pressed. Also famous are the peaches (melocotón) from this region. During the peach season (July-August) sangria serve with Periano melocotón to cool the summer heat.

With the Mediterranean and Sierra Nevada so close, there is a huge variation of styles when it comes to food.
Within walking distance you can have lunch and dinner at Complejo Turístico Rural Las Mayoralas Restaurante. In the direction of Periana you will find Café Verdugo. Here one offers a fine 3-course lunch daily including one free drink. Ask the waiter for the menu of the day: “Hay un menú del día?”
Torre del Mar is a 20-minute drive away. A variety of restaurants and bars can be found along the promenade
